Harry And Meghan’s New Instagram Account Attracted 150 000 Followers In Several MinutesApril 3, 2019
Meghan and Harry already have more than 1.3 m. followers on their account @sussexroyal. They made the account this afternoon and already posted their first picture. They are currently getting ready to welcome their first child in the next several weeks.
The Duchess previously had an Instagram account, but all of her social media pages were deleted when she joined the Royal Family. Other royals have been known to post on social media to show a glimpse into their royal life.
The Sussex couple will soon celebrate their first wedding anniversary after getting married last May.
Their first Instagram post is welcoming their fans to their new page, where they are going to share important announcements and their charity work.
They wrote: “Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”- Harry & Meghan”
So far, they are following three other official accounts: Clarence House, Kensington Palace and the Royal Family. The account also signifies the couple’s split from Kensington Palace and parting ways with William and Kate.
A couple of weeks ago, the palace also announced the Sussexes were getting their own royal household, including their own office.
Queen Elizabeth also approved the couple getting their own household, according to the palace.
The new household will “ensure that permanent support arrangements for the Duke and Duchess’s work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage”.
