Princess Charlotte’s Birthday Outfit Sales Go Through The RoofMay 3, 2019
Mothers across the UK have scrambled to get a dress like Charlotte’s £70 blue floral summer dress she wore on her fourth birthday. The dress by Trotters has a white Peter Pan collar and puffy sleeves, and is nearly sold out online.
The founder of childrenswear company Trotters, Sophie Mirman, told the Daily Mail: “We’ve pretty much sold out online. “As soon as the image came out, we saw a massive spike in sales. There’s been a huge, huge amount of interest. We’re a small family business and everything is designed by us and made exclusively for us. It’s lovely to have that recognition.”
She added: “We expect it to be sold out by the weekend but we’re able to manufacture some more. We’re desperately trying to get more stock back in.’
The Princess paired her dress with a matching pair of £26 Hampton Canvas Plum shoes by Trotters, which also have seen a massive spike in sales.
Ms. Mirman said: “There was a huge spike in sales of the shoes overnight.”
The Cambridges are fans of Trotters, with Charlotte and George seen wearing clothes from the brand on multiple occasions.
George was seen wearing a pair of Trotters navy shoes in 2017, many believing he had handed them down to Charlotte for her birthday.
Charlotte was spotted wearing a pink Rosa version of the same shoes at the Houghton Horse trials last year.
Kate even dressed Louis in a denim blue Trotters jumper for his first birthday.
She also took several pictures of Charlotte for her fourth birthday. Charlotte was dressed in a tartan Yarrow skirt by Amaia Kids, which she wore at the Burnham Market horse trials in Norfolk last month.
