The Reason Why Meghan’s Not Wearing Her Engagement Ring On Royal TourSeptember 25, 2019
The Duchess of Sussex, during the first two days of royal tour in South Africa, has been photographed without two very important rings; the engagement ring and the eternity ring she received as a push present from her husband, Prince Harry.
On an event at the beach for Waves For Change, Meghan’s fingers are bare, as you can see from the photo, except her Welsh gold wedding band, and what appears to be a NEW Jennifer Meyer ring.
The reason why she has ditched her treasured jewels is that while she’s greeting the public she wants to be “low key”, according to HELLO! source.
While she is out on a royal tour, it’s not surprising that she would keep her precious ring in a safe place – earlier this year, Meghan redesigned her engagement ring which features two of the late Princess Diana’s diamonds. The ring’s gold band had been replaced by a delicate diamond-studded band and it was noticed on her post-baby appearances; when she introduced her first child, Archie Harrison and at Trooping the Colour.
The central diamond is from Botswana, where the couple previously vacationed together. The other two diamonds are from his late mother’s personal collection, And that’s the reason because the stones were specially selected by the Prince.
After they announced their engagement, Harry revealed during the couple’s first sit-down interview with the BBC: “The ring is obviously yellow gold because that’s [Meghan’s] favourite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewellery collection, to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together,”
